WHFYC was founded by someone who knows what it feels like to leave a hospital without dignity.

We’re Here For You Canada was founded by Sarah, a survivor who experienced firsthand the absence of dignity in post-assault hospital care.

After a forensic exam, Sarah — like so many survivors across Canada — was discharged without clothing, comfort, or clear support. While the medical procedures were complete, the human care was not. That moment revealed a painful truth: once healthcare protocols end, survivors are often left to navigate one of the most vulnerable moments of their lives alone.

What stayed with Sarah was not only her own experience, but the realization that this was not an isolated failure — it was a systemic gap affecting survivors every day.

After a forensic exam, survivors’ clothing is often taken as evidence and many hospitals do not have replacement clothing. This often means survivors are discharged wearing paper scrubs, hospital gowns, or outdated and uncomfortable lost-and-found clothing.

Survivors can be left cold, exposed, and unsupported at one of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
